Modulightor Building
The Modulightor Building is one of my most favorite spaces in New York City. Designed by Paul Rudolph in the later years of his career, it stands as a testament to his unique designs and creations.
The townhouse lot was purchased by Rudolph in the 1990s and transformed as a building to house his lighting company showroom, his office, two rental apartments and later in the 2000s an event space/rooftop. The spaces are completely unique in his approach to designing around the human scale. All white, filled with plants and just stunning.
Today it is owned and operated by the Paul Rudolph Insitute for Modern Architecture which hosts events, open-houses and gallery shows. For more information visit their website.
