Espace Niemeyer

The Espace Niemeyer is an event space located in the Headquarters of the French Communist Party. Oscar Niemeyer himself was extradited from his homeland Brazil due to his political affiliations, so I kind of love that he designed this building.

The space is one of the most unique in Paris, with bright green wall-to-wall carpets. Curving concrete walls and Niemeyer lounge chairs distinguish the different gallery spaces. But the most architectural stunning space is the assembly room. Located in a half-sphere meant to represent a pregnant woman's belly, thee space looks exactly like a UFO ship.

This space has always been iffy about access, with the very rare gallery show or national holiday that allows entrance. For more info visit their website.
